The Number 1 Thing Every Internet Business Needs

Can you guess what every Internet business needs more the most? Although I am sure we would get a variety of different answers many people probably could get this right.

For example some people probably think the product is the most significant thing. I would certainly agree that without a quality product it is hard to have a lucrative Internet business.

However there are plenty of cases where people are making a lot of money on the Internet selling sub par products.

Other people may think the most important thing is the lay out of your website. I can shoot that down pretty fast because I have seen many websites that were poorly designed and yet the owner was making a full time income online.

Certainly selling top quality products on a poorly designed website will help you earn more. But these two things are not the number one thing every online business needs.

After seven years of doing Internet marketing I know for a matter of fact that the number one thing you must have to do well online is website traffic. Even if you represent the best products on the best website you will never sell anything if nobody comes and visits it.

This really is no different than an off line business. For example I have been to restaurants that were little hole in the walls. These are the sort of places that you do not know about unless somebody refers you or you see an ad.

Yet when you get there you wait in line waiting to get a table. Chances are the food is extremely good, but how would you know unless you came in and ate?

The same thing is true online. You can have a tiny website off in your own little corner of the World Wide Web and make money from home to the tune of hundred thousand dollars a year.

You do this through viral advertising, paid advertising, and free or nearly free marketing methods. This is the only way your Internet business is going to survive and make money.

If you do not get enough visitors to your website you will never make any sales. Unless you are doing this as a fad not making sales is a sure fire way to go out of business.

There are so many ways to promote an Internet business today that you really only need to learn a couple of them really well. Blog marketing and pay per click are two of the most popular wasy right now because they work.

You jsut need to learn a couple. Once you do this you will always have visitors and you can improve your website design and product offering to make more sales.

Blogging For Fun? Try Blogging Guides To Be Successful In Blogging

There are literally millions of blogs on the net. Most people who start blogging do so for the sheer pleasure of the activity. You write about what you know. All of a sudden, you’re receiving responses from people all over the world. These responses naturally fuel your enthusiasm. You write more. More people jump in to have their say. Before you know it, you’ve got a sizeable amount of traffic.

However, as you spend more time writing your blog and subscribing to server space, you realize that it?s taking up too much of your time without generating income. Well, you don?t have to worry about that since there is a way for you to make money out of your blog. You can generate income from what you write every day. There are several ways that you can do this.

You need to acquaint yourself with the world of net marketing, if you want to make a profit. After all, people are interested in what you have to say. Maybe now’s the time to consider the leap to your own online business. With good management strategies, you could quit your ‘day job’ and do just fine!

Here?s how it goes, you have a popular blog site with a regular stream of people commenting and visiting it. First thing to ask, do you have any ads posted? Any links to direct your readers to additional material? Does it have any streaming audio or RSS feeds? If you said ?no,? to most of these, then it?s time for an upgrade. Knowing about these things can help you turn your regular blog into something more profitable. The best way to do this is to learn from blogging guides.

Blogging guides do not generally teach you how to write. You’ve got that down. What blogging guides do teach you is how to market your blog. While you may have an indestructible rapport with your readers, that won’t make you any money. You need targeted ads for products and services your readers are looking for, to enhance their knowledge or skill sets.

For example, let’s say your blog concerns greenhouse gardening. Your readers are hungry for information on building and maintaining greenhouses, books of both a general nature and specific and more obscure facets of greenhouse gardening, such as orchid care, hydroponic gardening or grafting cactii in Minnesota in winter.

You know how to find what your readers want. You need to know how to form affiliate agreements, whereby your link to greenhouse garden products results in a commission for you, when your reader clicks through and buys that product.

If you?re not doing this yet, then you are missing out on so many things. You can also add graphics; submit to directories and social networking sites. You need to get yourself acquainted with search engine optimization to make the most out of your blog and generate income.

There are free blogging tutorials to get you started. Once you’ve got a handle on how to make money, invest in a good blogging guide. You’ll make money!

Ideas Making A Website To Gain Profit

I have had a small business for some time now, but I realized that I had come to a point where I needed to expand my base. A presence on the Internet is an important part of small business today, so I decided it was high time I began researching the fine art of making a website. I started out knowing two things: First I didn’t have much money to invest in this venture; and second, I didn’t know the first thing about making a website on my own.

I went back to the drawing board and did more research. I researched and looked over information or guides on how to create my own website. It wasn?t long before I came across useful information that could help me create my own website. It just became a matter of deciding whether I?ll take advantage of the services of a professional web developer or take matters into my own hands.

The first option was to hire a trained professional to do the job, and this was tempting indeed with my limited experience in the technical arena. I found that some experts in this field will charge a pretty reasonable fee for making a website, considering how much they could offer to build a really cool, attention-getting site. However, even the lowest fees were a bit steep for my budget at the time, so I decided to go it alone for the time being.

So, I decided in making the site on my own. Anyway, I figured that I could just get someone to touch it up and improve it later on. This means that I won?t be paying as much since they?re not building the site from nothing.

The online resources I found offered plenty of good step-by-step information for making a website, from choosing your domain name and designing your actual pages, to promoting your presence using the right content to draw prospective clients in.

Some of these were aptly referred to as tutorials, because they walked you through the entire process with language that was easy for even the least techno-savvy to understand. Yep, that’s me!

The moment my site was up and running, all I needed to do was spruce it up with graphics, my logo, pictures and buttons to make it more appealing to the readers. Surprisingly, the process was actually fun and not hard to do.

However, I am looking forward to bringing an expert in to help me with the finer points of making a website that will give my pages that final, professional touch that will certainly allow me to put my best cyber-foot forward. Look out Internet, here I come!

Internet Marketing-Is Your Work Planned Tommorow

It is a known fact that busy people never use time as an excuse. It is also a proven fact that Internet marketers who do not budget their time properly will surely fail.

Let’s talk for a minute about planning a schedule for your Internet marketing business that could make a difference in your future success.

1. Scheduling your time is one of the benefits of working for yourself. When you work at home on the internet you do not have a boss looking over your shoulder telling you what to do.

Your schedule should be realistic and something that you’re willing to work towards. If you have a full-time career you may know exactly what hours you are available to work on the Internet when you are home.

Your goal is to be as productive as you can in the limited amount of time that you schedule yourself to work. Set specific things you hope to achieve. Try and pend the majority of your time marketing your business and getting traffic to your website.

2. Put your schedule where you can find it and look at it regularly. Don’t just keep it up in your head work and get it mixed up and lost.

Actually typed it up on Microsoft word or in a spreadsheet. If you don’t have a lot of worok to do put in an online sticky note and read it and mark off things as you do them.

3. Plan exactly how you are going to promote and advertise your internet business. If you’re focusing specifically on learning marketing skills such as article marketing list exactly what you’re going to do.

Your schedule might be something like Monday write two articles. Tuesday submit these articles to five article directories. Wednesday post them on your blog. Thursday spend some time in social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook. And so on.

4. Be sure to mark things off and keep track of the progress you are making. It’s extremely motivating to accomplish things besides just earning money.

Initially you may not make a lot of money online, but your schedule can serve to keep you motivated and moving your business forward.

5. Be realistic and push yourself whenever possible. If you think you can write two articles a day try to do three.

If you want to hang out into 2 discussion forums try to hang out for an extra 10 minutes and make it three. Know that your competition is pushing themselves and the only way you are going to pass them up is to do more than you think you can.

Are Cookies Evil? What Service Do Cookies Perform In A Web Browser?

Are cookies are bad and do they invade your privacy? We’re not talking about the kind of cookie you eat, we’re talking about computer cookies! It’s not really true that cookies are evil.

So, what is a cookie, what’s it made of and what does it do? A cookie is a tiny text file that a web site can put on your computer as you browse the pages on that web site. One thing people don’t understand is that a web site can only read and write its own cookies, it cannot access another web site’s cookies. Cookies are used for storing various items of information, such as a name, or a selection choice you made. This information will be read back from the when you load other pages on the site, or, on return visits to the site.

What reason does a web site need to use cookies? Web browsers are stateless, stateless means that as you through various pages on a web site, each of those pages is a separate and distinct action. For example, the web server does not know it’s the same person that was on the home page that made the request for the order page. This is very different from desktop applications like Microsoft Excel that you run on your computer. The web server sees all page requests as individual requests for pages, not as a continuous visit from you. As you move through a web site and select things and make choices, what keeps you from having to reenter or reselect that information as you load each page? Usually the answer is a cookie. A cookie can be used by the web server to keep track of you as a user so that as you navigate from page A to page B, the web server knows it’s you and the developer of the web site can reference those items stored in your cookie to maintain a stateful experience for your session or visit to the web site.

Occasionally, you may want or need to delete your cookies.

You can delete your cookies a few ways. Most web browsers (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, FireFox, Opera,

etc.) have different ways to do this, so consult the help for your browser on how to delete the cache files and cookies. There are also several software packages to clean your PC and these packages also delete cookies.

Using cookies improves your user experience when browsing the Internet. Is there a security risk or danger to cookies? A web site can use cookies for saving information that you enter into forms on web pages and that’s where security concerns arise. Usually this never causes any problem, however, before letting someone use your computer, or taking your computer somewhere to be repaired or serviced, always delete your browser’s cache AND cookies!
Each browser is different, so consult your help files for the browser you use (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, FireFox, Opera, etc.) for how to delete the cache files and cookies.
